Dennis Geist

President and Chair

Dr. Dennis Geist has been President and Chair of the Friends of the Charles Darwin Foundation since its establishment in 2021. He is also former President of the Charles Darwin Foundation and former Professor of Volcanology at the University of Idaho. He has been conducting field research in Galapagos since 1982, in an attempt to understand the origins of magmas, eruptive processes, and the geologic controls on biodiversity.
